Abstract

The focus of this panel is on climate action pursued by FFF, XR or the Climate Justice Movement. The papers shed led on competing ‘productions of futures’ in climate action; the similarities and differences between past and present environmental movements; the 'theories of change' that underpin different forms collective action on the issue of climate change; the motivations for joining and abstaining from contemporary environmental movements; and the specific forms/challenges climate action takes/is confronted with in authoritarians regimes.
