In recent years, the European political landscape has witnessed the rise of various populist, radical and Eusosceptic parties and movements challenging the status quo and expressing dissent towards the European Union (EU). Drawing on insightful examples from across the European continent, including Greece, Germany, the UK, Italy and Slovakia, this panel explores the multifaceted inter- and intra-party dynamics of populism and radical politics in the EU context. Taken together, these papers offer a comprehensive analysis of the effects of populism, radical politics, and dissent within the EU, providing insights into the internal dynamics of radical parties, the evolution of Eurosceptic movements, the complexities of party-EU relations, and the influence of social movements on institutional policies.
