Corruption and anti-corruption measures can significantly affect how countries deal with each other and the increasingly polarized international order. Recent developments and revelations in that sense have been especially interesting. Malign foreign influences transposed through transnational corruption flows may destabilize countries and their internal political dynamics. Corrupt environments prevent multilateral efforts to end wars and promote peace and stability. Unilateral measures to counter weaponized strategic corruption challenge the established elements of a global anti-corruption governance. This panel seeks to delve into the myriad ways corruption shapes, influences and interacts with the dynamics of international relations. The topics that will be addressed include: ▪️ The impact of (anti-)corruption on diplomatic relations and foreign policy, ▪️ Global governance approaches to corruption, ▪️ the role of international organizations in curbing or facilitating corruption, ▪️ case studies of corruption affecting international peace and security ▪️ international anti-corruption measures and their efficacy ▪️ theoretical approaches to understanding corruption in international relations.
