As a field situated at the intersection of multiple disciplines and perspectives, European studies present particular pedagogical challenges and opportunities. This panel invites authors to examine the practice of teaching European Studies within transdisciplinary and transcultural contexts, considering how the boundaries between disciplines, methodologies, and cultural frameworks shape both the content and delivery of curricula. Contributors are encouraged to address questions related to the conceptualisation of “Europe” in diverse educational settings; the integration of perspectives from political science, history, cultural studies, and related fields; and the implications of teaching European Studies to increasingly international and heterogeneous student cohorts. Drawing on comparative experiences, the panel interrogates how educators negotiate disciplinary and cultural boundaries, and develop pedagogical approaches that foster critical and inclusive understandings of Europe and European integration.
