This panel explores the relationship between methodology and democratic practice, examining how research methods can themselves embody and contribute to democratic principles. The papers consider the methodological challenges of translating democratic theory into deliberative practices, the role of methodological reflection in political theory as a form of democratic engagement, and the use of live action roleplay as an innovative approach to practising political theory democratically. Together, the papers challenge conventional understandings of methodology and highlight how democratic values can be embedded within the ways political research and theory are conducted.
