Abstract

The panel chairs welcome papers that examine the tools to achieve particular standards within enviromental regulation. The panel is interested in both the evolution of the older, more traditional ‘command and control’ instruments as well as the development of ‘new’ instruments such as environmental taxes and tradable permits. The panel welcomes diverse theoretical and methodological approaches. The chairs welcome papers focusing on all geographic regions, but particularly encourage contributions focusing on environmental policy instruments in Southern and East European countries, NAFTA, as well the EU system and its member states.
