This panel will examine the impact of the of the centre-periphery cleavage in a comparative and/or longitudinal context. The centre-periphery cleavage is expressed by differences in support for the political parties in different regions or counties, and is sometimes associated with regional parties which express different types of values and interests of the population in given regions. The aim of the panel is to bring together scholars and papers which use different methods and types of data to study the impact of this cleavage.
