Abstract

This panel brings together different approaches to policy making on subnational level. In the actual debate the subnational level is especially interesting in respect to the potential for democratisation of political decision making. Analysis and comparison of different cases in different countries allows for research in this field to sharpen the view on relevant mechanisms and actors on the subnational level in policy making and to identify useful methods in its exploration.
