Abstract

This panel provides a home for a range of papers interested in furthering our understanding of the ‘good’ state in international relations, the notion of ‘good international citizenship’, and the broader relationship between cosmopolitanism and the state. Papers might focus, for example, on the meaning of ‘ethical foreign policy’, a reassessment of humanitarian intervention in the light of the Arab spring, the concept of ‘the good state’ in the light of emerging powers, or the role of regional institutions in promoting norms of international citizenship.
