Abstract

This panel provides for papers broadly interrogating the normative dimensions and implications of ‘the new ethical terrain in IR’. Papers might consider the constitution of ideas of inside/outside in IR today, the relationship between commitments to citizens and to non-citizens, or the effect of international norms and networks on the ethical content of state practice. The panel would particularly welcome papers that situate these kinds of normative enquiry within one or more of the contexts outlined above.
