Abstract

This panel focuses on the political economy of development, featuring papers that deal with governance challenges in the developing world. The papers of the panel explore various policy problems, as well as specific policy interventions in different sectors of the economy and polity. Among the themes addressed are CSR, the role of civil society and development institutes in catalyzing the reforms, property rights, transparency in the extractive sector, performance-based aid, and national competitive advantages.
