Abstract

VAAs provide information in order to facilitate and improve the decision making process of the citizens in the course of elections. Whether this aim is achieved depends not only on the quality of their design (selection of statements, matching procedure, and presentation of the parties/candidates) but also on their application and their use by the different actors (citizens, parties, media, providers, authorities) involved. This panel will particularly focus on comparative approaches as well as in studies linking variables of design with the broader context and the use of VAAs.
