This panel invites paper submissions that draw on VAA examples or VAA data (i.e. user data and/or party data) to answer broader questions in the field of political science. The aim is to show how VAA-generated data can be of relevance to the broader discipline. Examples of such topics include using VAA data to examine the dimensionality of the political space, party competition, polarization across party systems and issue politics. Papers on broader questions, such as VAAs and representation as well as studies on issue congruence, are especially welcomed as is comparative work with a cross-national or longitudinal focus.
