Abstract

The implications of Kant's legal philosophy for politics have been contested issues among commentators: Does Kant advocate a political system similar to our current models of liberal democracies or a form of political organisation clearly distinct from liberal democracy, such as a republican state? Does Kant support the idea of a global state or is he rather defending a federation of states? This panel brings together papers that explore the political implications of Kant's legal philosophy. Papers may focus on implications for a particular political context or on the relevance of Kant's Doctrine of Right at national, international or global levels.
