This panel invites papers from scholars working on the issue of the design of judicial institutions and the way political actors use them as opportunity structures. Themes that may be considered include: the appointment procedures, access routes and internal decision-making procedures but also all rules affecting judicial independence. Papers explaining the change of judicial institutions are also invited.
