Abstract

Kant claims explicitly in the "Metaphysics of Morals" that we cannot separate his legal philosophy from metaphysics. This panel will investigate the metaphysical presuppositions of Kant's moral philosophy, in particular his legal philosophy and his view of rights. In particular, the panel will explore issues concerning personal identity, freedom and some of their political implications.
