Abstract

Thematic issue is to discuss the question of how the new international situation of recent years has transformed the participation and role of Russia in international cooperation. One topic is the causal dynamics of energy relationship among the European Union (EU), Turkey and Russia. The EU-Russia energy relations display the characteristic of a security dilemma; neither party can improve its energy security without undermining the security of the other. But what is the role of Turkey in this energy security dilemma? Second point is the issues of the Ukrainian crisis impact on German foreign policy towards Russia. Discussion try to figure out the logic and calculations of Berlin’s decision making circles behind their push for the adoption of individual and then sectorial economic sanctions. For this game theoretical modeling and statistical analysis will be used. Third problem is Russia as a Rising Power in the Arctic Region. The main research hypothesis explains the inter-relation between Russia being a rising power and its inclination for bilateral negotiations. Forth issue is how political regime influence on a trade between former communist bloc and Russia. Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) is used to determine the necessary and sufficient conditions.
