Abstract

This panel will examine the role of certain transitional justice mechanisms and measures in preventing violations. Specifically, the panel will examine among other issues, the impact of incorporating certain transitional justice measures in peace agreements. It will also analyse guarantees of non-recurrence as measures to prevent future violence. The panel will attempt to identify how different factors interact to make prevention of violence more likely.
