Abstract

This panel brings together classic topics in electoral research ranging from electoral competition and vote choice to party systems. Changes in electorates, party systems and institutions require looking at ‘the classic’ with fresh eyes. The panel challenges widely accepted assumptions to bring about new methodologies and revised conceptualization of key issues in the study of elections.
