Electoral campaigns mobilize, inform and persuade voters. How parties and leaders articulate their discourse in the run up to elections and referendums has key implications for electoral outcomes. The ever-changing media environment through which political actors voice their messages is one of the themes of this panel, which brings together studies of personalization processes and populist appeals.
