Abstract

Political parties often attribute responsibility for unpopular national policy measures to the EU-level. For instance recently, governments present budgetary cuts and different austerity measures by referring to the EURO crisis, the Maastricht criteria, etc. This panel invites papers which analyse these blame attributions at the national level and its implications for the European integration process. Papers studying the media, political parties and voters as well as papers presenting analyses over time are invited.
