The subject of the paper is the Russian people’s attitudes towards politics. It’s a part of large project, which just began in spring of 2009 and which have the inside Image of temporary Russia in a focus of attention. We suppose that an image of the country includes common people’s attitudes towards political authority, national mentality, culture, social climate and a quality of people’s life, economics, politics - both in static and dynamic, and, of cause, the image of the country can exist only in compare with other countries and imaginary perceptions about themselves as a national-state community. So we think that existing inside images of the country are results of the influence of many external factors and characteristics of national mentality, worldview, temporary trends in politics and economics, and of cause long-life trends in culture and history, which could be a bases of some stereotypes, attitudes and perceptions connected with the image of the country. In terms of the focus-group and focus-interview research, carried out by us, we have interviewed 300 respondents from different part of Russian Federation: Moscow, Central Russia, Volga region, Ural and Siberia. We have chosen the main social groups of participants average people aged at 18 to 70. Our focus-group research was based not only on classical methods of group discussion and interview but also projective ones. That allowed us to identify the mass preferences not only at a rational level of mass consciousness but at the unconscious one as well.
