My study focuses on the growing political participation of Tibetan women inside the Tibetan settlements in Nepal and aims to illustrate the women empowerment process and the changings in gender relations that occured in 50 years life in exile.
In two longer field works inside Tibetan settlements in Nepal and in Dharamsala (India, Tibetan Central Government in exile) I also aim to discover the reasons of the still lower political participation and representation of women compared to men in formal and informal political institutions/organisation.
