Abstract

The experimental method is increasingly used in political science and a significant amount of data are collected to support series of publications. The X-Hub project aims to establish a network of repositories for experimental data from different research disciplines starting with experimental data from political science, economics and sociology. The first objective is to enable researchers to meet the demands of good scientific practice by sharing their research data (archiving, documentation, publishing). The second objective is to make primary data accessible and understandable for researchers from different scientific communities. Experimental scientists from different disciplines and methodological backgrounds are often interested in the same themes and theories but they use different terminology. X-Hub will enhance interdisciplinary exchange of data and methods, by building both the technical infrastructure and a metadata scheme that allows this understanding from different perspectives.
