We explore which factors explain co-operation on the individual MP level in co-sponsorship decisions. We do so by drawing on institutional explanations (e.g. electoral systems, party competition etc.), but also on the motivational approaches which emphasize MP's individual characteristics and previous experiences as determinants of legislative behaviour (a theoretical strand which has become popular in explaining US congressmen's voting behaviour).
