Abstract

This contribution discusses the outcomes of innovating the elective course Dynamics of the cultural landscape, aimed for students of Geography at a Bachelor level. The course is implemented during 10 in-person lessons. One lesson takes 40 minutes. The teaching language is the Slovak language. There were 7 students enlisted in this course in the academic year 2021/2022. The aim of this research paper was to show how teamwork and use of new tools (Kahoot, Nearpod, Socrative) can activate students to work more efficiently. Moreover it describes which educational methods students prefer and consider effective for learning, when comparing experience from the depicted lessons and other lessons they attend. The research has a mixed character, because of the small number of the attendants of the course. The collected data were analysed and subsequently evaluated in order to prove the hypothesis. The source for the collected data were the students and their opinions on the subject, the view from the main teacher's perspective and own evaluation of innovation success. The specific outcomes of the innovative methods used in this course will be presented during the conference.
