Abstract

Outcomes Nearpod activity in the online part of the course can engage all the students to take part in the lesson. Teacher can immediately see outcomes of student learning and offer feedback to hem Interactive activities support the learning process. Well-structured activities aligned with outcomes and assessment can help the students to learn and prepare for their exams. Description Teaching and learning Physiology in Faculty of Medicine has underwent significant changes in the last ten years. The main emphasis is placed on the ability of students to explain the main physiological principles and to apply them in clinical environment. The presented innovation of the course of Physiology involved online activities in Nearpod platform. Activities were designed to address the foundational topics and concepts in human physiology and to discuss them with students. Students were invited to answer and ask questions regarding the topic and to learn from the discussion and explanations of the teacher and their peers in friendly learning environment. The participation of all students in activities was expected and encouraged. The teacher could see student responses in real time and subsequently provide feedback to students on their responses. The activities were designed to cover the most important topics in depth appropriate for the second year-medical students. The key concept applied in this innovation was constructive alignment. The oral assessment of student knowledge was aligned with the objectives and activities included in the course. The impact of Nearpod activity on learning process and student success in the oral assessment will be evaluated. Ways of engaging audience Innovation of the online part of course of Physiology involved online activities in Nearpod. I plan to show my online Nearpod activity to the audience who can participate in the activity with their smartphone devices. Participation format Face-to face participation.
