Authoritarian regimes employ multiple forms of international cooperation to sustain their rule. Looking beyond the 'domestic' regime tactics of coercion, cooptation and the manufacturing of consent, this paper presents a broad review of extant literature and sketches a conceptual framework for the analysis of the international cooperation of authoritarian regimes.
