Transformation of the World System under the Influence of the Russian-Ukrainian War

The apogee of Russia's imperial policy was the open aggression against Ukraine on 24 February 2022, the goal of which is the liquidation of Ukrainian statehood and restoration of the USSR through the subjugation of most post-Soviet countries. Despite everything, Ukraine managed to break Moscow's strategy of imperial revanchism, and ensured the transit to the acquisition of geopolitical subjectivity thanks to resistance from the armed forces and civil society. Having received significant military and technical assistance from the West (mainly the USA and Great Britain), Ukraine made it impossible for Russia to deprive it of its statehood and restore the USSR in a significant part of the post-Soviet space. All this strengthened the EU's determination to make Ukraine a membership candidate for the EU and NATO. Contrary to Putin's plans, the unity of NATO and the West as a whole has become stronger than ever, and Finland and Sweden have decided to join the Alliance. Austria, Norway and Luxembourg, which have been neutral until now, also provided tangible aid to Ukraine. By and large, Russia is doomed to defeat, which will ultimately shake other autocracies – China, Venezuela, Cuba, and the positions of populists in Western countries.
