Abstract

Gender politics continues to be a vibrant and cutting-edge sub-field within political and social science. Alongside initial studies of women’s representation and female political activism, the field’s more contemporary focus on gendered politics and policies has yielded countless insights into how sex remains an essential aspect of power and politics. This section is pleased to consider all papers that focus on either movements or policies, structures or identities, masculinities or femininities. Possible panel topics include patterns of female political participation or behavior, comparative gender policy and policy research, micro-level women’s politics, sexual identities and politics.
