ECPR Standing Group on Organised Crime

General Conference 5 – 6 July 2019

The SGOC, in collaboration with the University of Sofia, The Centre for the Study of Democracy, and The Global Initiative Against Transnational Organised Crime, invites you to the third SGOC General Conference in Sofia, Bulgaria.

This year's theme is Dismembering Organised Crime: Identifying, Analysing and Countering.

The first SGOC General Conference was held in Naples, in December 2015, and second in Bath, July 2017. Following the success of these two events, the SGOC is excited to hold its third conference in the scenic Bulgarian capital.

Sofia is a modern, youthful city, with a scattering of domed churches, Ottoman mosques and Red Army monuments which give it an exotic feel. The ski slopes and hiking trails of Mount Vitosha are just a short bus ride from the city centre.

The University of Sofia was founded on 1 October 1888, 10 years after the liberation of Bulgaria, and serves as Bulgaria's primary institution of higher education.
