Carleton University operates BA Honours and MA programs in European and Russian Studies through the Institute of European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (EURUS), as well as a full range of degree programs (up to the PhD) through the Department of Political Science. The university hosts the Centre for European Studies (CES), a university research centre that has been designated by the European Commission as an EU Centre of Excellence (EUCEs) and Network Coordinator of all Canadian EUCEs. CES also houses the Canada-Europe Transatlantic Dialogue, a major research network funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), which complements the activities of the EU Centre of Excellence by focusing on research linkages within Canada, and between Canada and Europe, including dissemination of research results.
