Research in Politics, International Relations and Philosophy at Keele is centred in the School of Social Sciences. The School is a multi-disciplinary one, and brings together academics in Criminology, Education, International Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Sociology. A number of other colleagues outside the School also engage in research relevant to the ECPR – for example media, political psychology, and environmental sustainability. Our research strengths lie in a number of areas, including environmental politics, comparative politics, public policy, global security, international development, and normative and empirical political theory. More recently, a number of our researchers have also worked in our university-wide Institute for Social Inclusion, which supports co-produced research that identifies, explains, and seeks to overcome social, economic, political and cultural obstacles to social inclusion and equality.
