Queen Mary's School of Politics and International Relations (SPIR) is one of the UK’s leading research-intensive departments. It has expanded considerably over the past decade. Research in the School spans three broad themes: Comparative politics, international relations, and political theory. The work of our researchers informs and enhances national and international policy-making, stimulates informed public and political debate, analyses and solves problems in local communities, and improves public understanding of contemporary political challenges.
