The University of Bergen's academic landscape is characterised by its great variety and breadth. Seven faculties cover most of the traditional university disciplines. Within the faculties are included more than 60 different specialised departments, centres and institutes. The University of Bergen accommodates a large and productive political science milieu, encompassing a wide spectrum of research traditions. Bergen University participates in the ECPR activities with its main political science units: Department of Comparative Politics, Department of Government, Norce, and the Christian Michelsen Institute.
