House Seminar Series

The ECPR is seeking to replace one of the three Academic Convenors of the Methods School. The mission of the Academic Convenors is to co-ordinate all academic matters of the ECPR Methods School that is delivered twice a year.

Academic Convenor's responsibilities include:

  • Conceptualisation and creation of the academic course programme; 
  • Selection and appointment of Instructors and Teaching Assistants;
  • Proposal of further academic development of the Methods School;
  • Attending Methods School and annual Retreat.

More generally, Academic Convenors are expected to:

  • Liaise with ECPR Harbour House for the selection of Instructors, Teaching Assistants and courses;
  • Prepare and circulate an annual report on the Methods School with your evalutions;
  • Present a proposal for new academic initiatives to be developed;
  • Take part in the Methods School and engage in discussions and decisions evaluating the past and planning the future at the annual Retreat.

Applicant background

The ECPR is seeking a political scientist with a PhD and at least five years’ professional experience in research. Successful candidates will be in a tenured position at a member institution and have a wide range of contacts in Europe and the rest of the world with relevant expertise, skills and knowledge in qualitative and quantitave methods. Previous experience in creating or delivering digital content is a merit.

Starting 1 February 2021, the position offers a small honorarium and will run for an initial term of three years, renewable for a further three.
