Iran at the Crossroads: Crisis, Continuity, or Transformative Change in the Islamic Republic
Speakers
Arman Mahmoudian, Global and National Security Institute at the University of South Florida
Alan Eyre, Middle East Institute
ECPR introduces its new Series on Academic Freedom in the Middle East, developed as part of its response to concerns raised within the scholarly community following the war in Gaza and the broader pressures faced by scholars and students across the region.
The series examines the challenges, constraints, and responsibilities surrounding academic freedom in Middle Eastern contexts. It aims to facilitate informed, nuanced discussion on how conflict, political pressures, institutional dynamics, and international partnerships shape the conditions for research, teaching, and scholarly exchange.
Convened by Encieh Erfani, Perimeter Institute in Canada, and Estella Carpi, University College London, the series comprises four free webinars bringing together leading scholars and practitioners to reflect on the protection, practice, and future of academic freedom in the Middle East.
Registration is required but you only need to register once to access the full series.
The event is FREE and open to all. You’ll need a My ECPR account to register.
