Getting to the campus

Option 1: Airport Express Train and Metro

Airport Express Train to Oslo City Centre

Airport Express Train from Oslo Airport to Oslo Central Station. Trains depart from the Airport Train Station every 10 minutes between 06:00 and 23:00, then every 20 minutes until midnight. However, there are no departures between 00:50 and 05:30. The journey to Oslo Central Station takes just 22 minutes.

The cost of a one-way ticket is 240 NOK. You can purchase tickets at the ticket vending machine in the terminal. You can also simply swipe your credit card at the barrier in the terminal and select your destination (e.g. Oslo S).

Metro from Oslo city centre to the University

Line 4 and 5 westbound will take you to the University. You can plan your journey here. The journey will last approximately 6-8 minutes from the city centre. You will need to disembark at Blindern. Exit the platform on the same side where you arrived. Walk up to campus. The University Library is the big black building straight ahead.

Purchasing tickets

Tickets are usually purchased through the RUTER app, but you can also get them from ticket vending machines at platform entrances, sometimes on the platforms themselves, and at various kiosks like Narvesen, 7-Eleven, and Deli De Luca. However, it's not possible to buy tickets on board.

  • Single ticket (valid in Zone 1): 42 NOK
  • 24-hour ticket (valid in Zone 1): 127 NOK
  • 7-day ticket (valid in Zone 1): 352 NOK

A single ticket is typically valid for all forms of transportation in Oslo (bus, tram, metro, boat).

Option 2: Local/Regional Train and Metro

Local/Regional Train from Oslo Airport to Oslo Central Station. These depart from the Airport Train Station every 10 to 20 minutes. You have the option to take the L12, R10, R11 or R12 train routes. The journey to Oslo Central Train Station takes approximately 23 minutes.

The price of a one-way ticket is 124 NOK. You can buy tickets at a ticket vending machine in the terminal or online.

Tram services from the city centre

Lines 17 and 18 westbound will transport you to the University, a journey of approximately 10-18 minutes from the city centre. Disembark at Universitetet Blindern. Walk through campus. When you are at the campus square you will see the University Library (big black building) to the left.

Taxi

The fare from the city centre to the University is approximately 300-350 NOK. The address you'll need to give to the taxi driver is: Faculty of Social Science: Moltke Moes vei 31.

Equipment

The conference room is equipped with a computer for presentations. Speakers are kindly asked to prepare their presentations in PowerPoint format.

WiFi login credentials will be provided at the venue.

On Friday 5 July, the Summmer School will be held in the Hegnhuset Learning Centre in Utøya. This will include a visit at Utøya and it's memorial, where the memory of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attack on 22 July 2011 is commemorated.
