Local Organisers

The local hosts work alongside the ECPR Events Team with the organisation of the Joint Sessions.

Head of Project, Anna M. Sroka, Assistant Professor, University of Warsaw

Anna M. Sroka completed her doctoral thesis on ‘Spanish Road to Federalism’ (Institute of Political Science, University of Wrocław) and her Habilitation (second dissertation) on ‘Accountability in Studies on the Quality of Democracy’ (on the Examples of Poland and Spain) both at the University of Warsaw. She is visiting professor at the National Distance Education University (UNED) in Madrid and has lectured in Berlin, Konstanz, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia. Dr Sroka’s main research interests are quality of democracy, federalism and regionalism.

Malgorzata Kaczorowska, Assistant Professor, University of Warsaw

Małgorzata Kaczorowska is founding member and Coordinator of the British Socio-Political Studies Research Group BRITANNIA. She completed her doctoral thesis on Political Study in British Devolution in 2008 at the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science, University of Warsaw. In 2009 she was one of the co-organizers the first Polish Congress of Political Science in Warsaw. In 2012 Dr Kaczorowska made Gastdozentur at the University of Konstanz. Her scientific interests concentrate on parties and party systems, contemporary political systems, devolution, regionalization processes in Europe, British politics and ecological security.

Agnieszka Bejma, Assistant Professor, University of Warsaw

Ahnieszka Bejma completed her doctoral thesis on ‘Volunteering as a form of civic activity’ in 2012 with distinction (Faculty of Journalism and Political Science, University of Warsaw); she has an MA in Political Science (Institute of Political Science, University of Warsaw), specialising in political marketing. Her main research Interests are the psychology and sociology of politics, voting behaviour in comparative perspective, civic activity and political participation, civil society and the third sector.

Renata Mienkowska-Norkiene, Assistant Professor, University of Warsaw

Renata Mieńkowska-Norkiene is a political scientist, sociologist (former consultant, TV producer and financial planner), living in Warsaw and Vilnius. She is an assistant professor at the University of Warsaw and a visiting professor at the Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius, her two main scientific fields of interests are European integration and conflict management. Dr Mieńkowska-Norkiene has a great experience in managing international projects as well as obtaining funding for their realisation; she cooperates with numerous scientific journals (as a reviewer), NGOs (as a member of Program Councils) and TV programmes (as a commenting expert).

Filip Ilkowski, Assistant Professor, University of Warsaw

Filip Ilkowski completed his doctoral thesis on ‘British Trade Unions Law Reforms 1964-1997. Political Analysis’.  Dr Ilkowski has lectured at the Universities of Istanbul and Ljubljana. His scientific interests concentrate on social movements, political thought, politics of the Middle East and especially on the theories of imperialism and globalisation. He is active himself in various social movements, including trade unions in higher and further education.
