Maurizio Carbone, Professor of International Relations and Development and Jean Monnet Professor of EU External Policies in the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Glasgow.

In 2013 Maurizio Carbone received the Abilitazione as Professore Ordinario (Full Professor) from Italy’s “National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes”. He has previously taught at the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, Duke University and has held visiting research positions at the University of Cambridge, Sciences Po (Paris), European University Institute (Florence), University of Canterbury (New Zealand), Université Libre de Bruxelles, and University of Cologne. He has also worked for the European Commission in DG Development between 2001 and 2004. His main research interests are on the external relations of the European Union, foreign aid, the politics of international development, as well as Italian foreign policy. He is the founding editor of Contemporary Italian Politics, a peer-reviewed journal published by Taylor& Francis (Routledge).

Jolan Nisbet, is working towards a PhD in Politics at the University of Glasgow.  Jolan's research questions how political elites from Central Europe are engaging and informing the European policy process, with a focus on the recast elements of the Common European Asylum System.

Scott Brown, is a recent graduate from the Politics PhD programme at the University of Glasgow. Scott's research interests lie in International Relations and Foreign Policy Analysis, particularly US-EU-China Relations. In 2014-15, Scott will focus on publishing work based on his PhD thesis and teaching a number of Honours and Masters courses at both the University of Glasgow and Dundee.
