Abstract

The energy sector has been undergoing significant turbulence and transformations in the last few years. Climate change, growing concerns on energy security and energy prices volatility have questioned the continued relevance of the liberalization policy regime adopted in the 1990s and 2000s based on liberalization, privatization and independent regulation. The panel seeks to cover recent developments, institutional innovations, and transformation in energy policy, regulation and governance, in particular in response to these recent challenges. Case studies or quantitative studies on all regions of the world are welcome.
