Abstract

The papers presented in this panel tackle issues concerning the rise, spread, and challenges posed by online misinformation and disinformation. They explore how personalisation of Google searches influence the visibility of misinformation, the use of machine learning to categorize misinformation, the implications of deepfake videos, and interventions aimed at enhancing news media literacy to mitigate the effects of misinformation.
