Abstract

Social inequality acts as a systemic barrier that shapes individuals' opportunities and outcomes. Within the broader contemporary debates surrounding societal fairness and social justice, tackling social inequality stands out as a fundamental imperative. This panel endeavors to explore the multifaceted issue of social inequality and related disparitie in Latin America, with a focus on policies aimed at alleviating discrepancies in access to public services, jobs and educational opportunities. In addition, the panel aims to examine the role of social policy responses in addressing inequalities, shedding light on the complex web of obstacles impeding progress toward equity in Latin America. It seeks to explore the intersection of inequalities, and social policy responses, with the aim of charting a path toward a more inclusive and equitable societal landscape in the region.
