Abstract

The objective of this article is to contribute to the strengthening of the theoretical bases of an integrated reading of regionalism with the internationalization of Higher Education in Latin America. Initially, the trajectory of regionalism in this region is presented and post-liberal regionalism is highlighted, subsequently recovering its ECLAC bases and some contemporary interpretations. The regionalism discussion is approached to the debate on Education, in a more general way, and subsequently to that on Higher Education, in its international dimension. Finally, some theoretical contributions from Latin America is proposed, with an addition of a contribution strongly linked to the debate in the region, are proposed, aiming to build a reflection an interpretation that supports the reflection on the effective capacity to promote the internationalization of Higher Education in the region, associated with another integration, based on the search of concrete alternatives for social transformations.
