Abstract

This panel will present the Lewis F. Richardson Lifetime Achievement Award to Ron Smith, Birkbeck College and papers on interdisciplinary approaches to the analytical study of conflict. The Richardson award is a tri-annual award honoring exemplary contributions to the scientific study of militarized conflict by a scholar with an academic career in Europe, supported by the ECPR standing groups on Analytical Politics and Political Geography. In the spirit of Richardson’s own research, we are particularly interested in papers that examine the interaction between different research traditions and disciplines in the study of conflict, both in terms of theory building as well as analytical methods.
