Speaker: Dr Johan Adriaensen, Maastricht University High workload is a key issue affecting the higher education sector, particularly for those with teaching-heavy contracts. Yet, not all of the work we do in preparation of our teaching contributes to student learning. Who has not spent hours writing extensive feedback forms that remain unopened on the LMS? Created extensive supplementary materials (podcasts, additional readings) or optional seminars that did not reach the intended audience? Or wasted hours of reading up on a topic to prepare for every eventual question a student may raise? In this seminar, the aim is to critically reflect on the work we do, and identify means to improve our efficiency.
