Speakers: Nils C. Bandelow Colette S. Vogeler Reimut Zohlnhöfer The German coalition government dissolved in November 2024, leading to new elections in 2025. This session will offer a live look-in at the 2025 Elections in Germany tackling the following questions: What (policy-related) challenges and/or conflicts between the political parties led to dissolving the government coalition? How can we explain the results of the new elections, including but not limited to situational, belief-related, or power-related factors? What can we expect from the election results in terms of the formation of a new government and what does or would the new government composition mean for the prospects of policy reform on several important policy issues? What broader impact of this new government can be expected in Europe and internationally? The webinar will be organized in the form of a panel discussion. Questions from the audience are welcome.
