Abstract

This panel is open for contributions that analyze coalition formation processes and legislative games under coalition governments. The panel invites papers discussing coalition governments from a theoretical point of view as well as empirical applications of coalition theories. In the spirit of “Analytical Politics: Linking Theory and Data”, the panel especially welcomes a) theoretical papers which discuss empirical implications of theoretical models, b) empirical applications focusing on data generation and operationalization problems and c) both of them. Research designs can – but need not – be spatial modelling, (applied) game theory and statistical analyses. Both comparative analyses and country studies or single case studies are welcome.
