Abstract

What is the relationship between transitional justice and peace? This panel will examine a variety of situations to uncover such interactions. The panel will explore, among other issues, the conditions under which peace operations assist international criminal tribunals or the tensions and synergies between reintegration of combatants and and transitional justice during post-war recovery. The panel will also look into the impact truth commissions can have on reconciliation as well as the effects that memorialisation can have for antagonised groups to reconcile.
