This study uses a Solomon four-group design to investigate the effects of an on-site political education program on youth' political engagement. The variables include the intention to vote, political knowledge, interest, efficacy, cynicism, and various political emotions. More than 600 young people from 14 secondary schools participated in the study. The pre- and posttests indicated that the ProDemos program in the political capital of the Netherlands had a considerable impact on the intended effects. The most obvious effects were more objective political knowledge and an increased level of political efficacy.
